VC4A is looking for up to 16 female founders who are heading innovative, high-growth scale-ups to pitch to a worldwide network of African investors. Do you have a business in Africa that is profitable and wants to fund between $250K and $10M? Application Deadline: May 27th, 2022.
VC4A is now accepting applications from women-led enterprises from around Africa. According to VC4A, the decision is based on the Africa: The Big Deal report, which claims that in 2021, 93 percent of Africa’s funding would go to firms run by male CEOs. Looking at the makeup of founding teams in 2021, a single man founder or a founding team with at least one male co-founder raised almost 99 percent of the investment.
VC4A claims, Companies participating in the program gain access to a curated investor network and are interviewed by top VC funds as part of the vetting process. Angel investors, VC fund managers, and corporates who engage in the program provide mentorship and technical support to the finalists.
