After providing a total of Birr 111 million, 65% more than the previous historic high, Betahon was won the contract to stage two holiday events at the Addis Ababa Bazaar & Exhibition Centre. However, due to payment delays, the Exhibition Centre & Market Development Enterprise cancelled a Birr110 million contract with Betahon Events to stage two upcoming holiday bazaars, The Reporter wrote.
The cancellation is a major setback for the Betahon as it is relatively new to the area. The company was awarded the contact to host the two events at the center, which includes four pavilions with 300 booths, after competing against five bidders, including industry veteran Century General Trading, Eyoha Addis Entertainment, and Commercial nominees. The exhibition center now intends to offer exhibitors a 20% discount and is currently preparing to host the Christmas Bazaar for the first time in two decades.
