The Addis Ababa administration has previously subsidized the loan of Birr 500,000,000 to alleviate the shortage of basic consumer goods, supply of basic commodities and stabilize the market price of basic consumer goods. In addition, the city cabinet has now approved a redevelopment fund of Birr 500,000,000 for the purchase of teff and wheat, as it was necessary to provide loans to consumer cooperatives on November 29, 2021.
The consumers’ cooperatives have decided to make the purchase directly from the manufacturer’s basic associations.
