Arkebe Oqubay (PhD), a Senior Ethiopian Official, and Taferre Tesfachew, an international consultant, have been appointed to the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) Secretariat’s Trade and Industrial Development Advisory Council of the 14 members. 

Arkebe is currently the Special Adviser to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and has worked in policymaking for more than 30 years.

Taffere works as a trade and development consultant on a global scale. He was the director of UNCTAD’s Africa and Least Developed Countries Division.
