Amhara Bank began operations with a paid-up capital of over ETB 6.5 billion and has already invested over ETB 4 billion.

The bank has opened 72 branches and plans to have 100 by June 30, 2014.

Amhara Bank, according to Dr. Yinager Dessie, Governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia, enables small-scale farmers to become shareholders as well as provides financial services.
