The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia’s (CBE) building, with an estimated cost of 7-8 billion birr, is about to be officially inaugurated in a week.

It is learned that the construction of the building took longer than planned, and increased construction materials, increased exchange rate and other related costs made the construction cost more than expected. The design changes have also resulted in new jobs being added to the original price. The new building is 209 meters high and is built on an area of 165,476 square meters. The construction was carried out by the Chinese Government Construction Engineering Corporation, while Addis Ababa University is providing consulting services. Source: The Reporter
