The bank, in association with a Spanish company undertaking the implementation, held a kick-off meeting. The project is aimed at automating most back-office operations (HCM, Finance, Procurement, Store Management, Fleet Management, Strategy Management, Business Intelligence). It is believed to be implemented in the coming 12 to 15 months.
Among private banks, the Cooperative Bank of Oromia is one of the four dominant banks with respect to assets, number of customers, capital, and deposit allocation in 2020/21. Awash, Dashen, Abyssinia, and Cooperative Bank of Oromia Banks has controlled more than half of assets, number of customers, net profit, and deposit allocation among private banks in last fiscal year, and 46% of the capital.
