At an event held yesterday on June 23, Dashen Bank uncovered the newest addition to its growing assets: a $4.4 million-dollar (Br. 230million) data center built to the highest standards among financing institutions worldwide. In a process that lasted nearly eight months, five local IT firms collaborated with the Bank to install the system.

Present during the inauguration ceremony were key figures such as the governor of the National Bank, bank executives, heads of several organizations, members of the bank’s executive board, and invited guests.

According to the President of the Bank, Asfaw Alemu, this next-generation Huawei FusionModule2000 data center solution, which integrates power, cooling, rack, cabling, and management systems, can:

• Accommodate at least 1,000 high-powered servers and other networked devices.

• Maintain normal operation throughout the year’s planned maintenance and during local or regional power outages.

• Recognize various activities in the area and relay information to the center’s main control unit

• Recognize problems and avoid threats in the event of a crisis

• Allow access to modern banking services from any location and allow banks to adopt a number of new services.

• Play an important role in improving the security and quality of services, as well as providing new services in developing the security and caliber of the services as well as providing new services in the digital domain.

Furthermore, the center will not only meet the needs of Dashen Bank but will also provide services to other institutions and local and foreign banks involved in the nation’s banking sector.
