As stated in the Ministry of Finance’s social media post, it was revealed that the payments made by the federal government’s budget offices by electronic method reached 5.5 billion birr per week.

It has been reported that whereas there were just 900 payments made each week when internet banking first began in October 2014E.C. (2022 G.C), there are now more than 12,000 payments made each week using this approach.

Except for a few offices, all of the federal budget offices have implemented the electronic payment system, and some offices have even achieved the point of making all payments electronically, as was noted in the discussion thread.
