The fastest growing airline in the whole of Africa, Ethiopian Airlines launches five new destinations in Athens, Greece, Chennai in India, Damman in Saudi Arabia, Jakarta in Indonesia, and Bahrain. In its 75 years of operation, Ethiopia has become one of the continents leading carriers unmatched in performance, efficiency and operational success.
On July 1, 2022 these new routes got added to airline’s 127 international destinations. According to Sun News, this comes as the airline also opened a 5-star terminal hotel inside the Bole airport. Shimeles Arage, Ethiopian Airlines General Manager for Nigeria, remarks travellers who need a pre-flight freshen up or those with shorter stopovers can use the hotel’s 24-hour spacious, pet-friendly rooms and suites with luxury bedding, and flat-screen TVs. He also revealed that the hotel is located within the airport terminal building and only a maximum of one-night stay is permitted due to government regulations but that once guests check-in at the hotel, they cannot leave the premises.
Ethiopia commands the lion share of the pan African passenger and cargo network operating the youngest and most modern fleeting’s operations to 130 international passengers and cargo destination across five continents. According to Waka about Africa Ethiopian fleet include ultra-modern and environmentally friendly aircraft such as Airbus A350, Boeing 787-8, Boeing 787-9, Boeing 777-300ER, Boeing 777-200LR, Boeing 777-200 Freighter, Bombardier Q-400 double cabin with an average fleet age of seven years.
Ethiopia is the first airline in Africa to own and operate these aircraft.
