According to Ethiopia’s Minister of Mines, Takele Uma, Ethiopia was able to earn USD 241 million from mineral Exports, mainly from gold export in the last five months.

Taking into consideration of the current security problems facing the country, particularly in mining areas, the last five months sector’s export showed an encouraging performance, wrote the minister on Twitter.

Technical knowledge and technological productivity needed to keep the local artisan gold miners in Benishangul to continue growing their output had been delivered, he added.
