It should be noted that the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA) has prohibited flights of the Boeing 737 Max Airplane anywhere in Ethiopian airspace since March 15, 2019, following the March 10, 2019 crash of the ET-302 Max Airplane.

Nonetheless, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been conducting rigorous investigations in order to determine the underlying causes of the crash and has developed inviolable regulations that should be enforced. Furthermore, the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority has conducted rigorous and careful inspections of the changes made to the airplane’s design as well as the regulations put in place.

Against the backdrop, ECAA announced yesterday, that the ban that was imposed on a flight of Boeing 737 Max across Ethiopian Airspace has been lifted as of April 11, 2022.
