Tadash Steel Manufacturing Industry opened a steel mill with a melting capacity of 450 tons of iron last week in Dukem, Oromia Region.
According to reports, Tadash Steel Manufacturing Industry developed a steel mill with a daily production capacity of 600 steel bars. The Tadash steel facility, which is being built on 50,000 hectares of land for 5.8 billion birr, is expected to employ 700 people and significantly reduce the amount of foreign currency Ethiopia spent on steel imports.
Ethiopia Imports of Iron and steel was US$705.02 Million during 2020, according to the United Nations COMTRADE database on international trade.
