According to an article by Business Insider Africa, Ethiopia stands ninth among the top ten African countries with the most developers. Sourced from a Google report, the article writes that there are about 19,000 professional developers in the country.
The continent’s booming tech startup ecosystem is reportedly spurring the demand for African developers. The demand is projected to reach new heights as growth in the ecosystem continues to skyrocket over the long term.
The highest concentration of developers in Africa lies in South Africa, with a total of 120,000 workers in the field. Egypt and Nigeria are listed in second and third places with both having around 89,000 developers.
The rest in the top 10 are Kenya, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Cameroon, and Ghana.
