Ethiopian Airlines, the largest aviation group in Africa, announced the launch of Zambia’s National Carrier December 1, 2021.
Ethiopian Airlines has 45% stake in the new Zambia Airways (ZN) in joint venture with Industrial Development Corporation Limited (IDC) that retains 55% of stakes in which the shareholders have contributed USD30 million in capital towards the establishment of the airline, data showed.
According to official source, the new Zambia Airways (ZN) is set to join African sky with its initial domestic flights on December 1st 2021 and international flights are expected to commence operation within the first quarter of 2022.
The multi-award-winning airline registering an average growth of 25% in the past seven years has stakes in Chadian Airlines (49%), Zambia Airways (45%), Malawi Airlines (49%), and Ethiopian Mozambique Airlines (99%).
