Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Service has operated 86 flights over the past two weeks, transporting more than 110 million flowers to various countries.

Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services, the largest cargo network operator in Africa and global multiple award winner airline, is extending its services in this month of valentine and is transporting fresh roses to different countries.

Every year, Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services, the freight division of Ethiopian, transports millions of roses across the world. In February last year, it has transported around 95 million stems of flowers.

In the past two weeks, Ethiopian Cargo operated 86 flights mainly from Ethiopia, Kenya, Ecuador, Colombia, Miami (US) into Europe, transporting more than 110 million stems of flowers.

The airline’s state- of-the-art cargo terminal fitted with different range of temperatures as well as its modern temperature-controlled aircraft enable it to transport and deliver flowers for the Valentine’s Day as fresh as received. Ethiopian Cargo, with its operational efficiency and market focused approach, is becoming a globally growing and reliable brand.

Ethiopian shipped 1,600 tons from Nairobi and 3,000 tons from Addis Ababa to Belgium, Cote d’Ivoire, Germany, Italy, UAE, the US, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and many more destinations through its vast global network.

Regarding the shipment, Mr. Fitsum Abady, Managing Director of Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services remarked, “We are glad to serve our global customers on the special occasion. We have been able to establish an effective cold chain which maintains flowers in a temperature-controlled environment throughout the transportation process and ensures efficient delivery to the intended destinations.’’

Operating modern and young fleet, Ethiopian Cargo and Logistic Services is known for the shipment of perishable goods through its ultra-modern temperature-controlled facilities with optimum condition. It is to be recalled that Ethiopian had also been transporting necessary medical supplies globally, contributing to the global fight against COVID-19.

Ethiopia is the second top flower exporting country from Africa due to the support of Ethiopian Airlines latest cargo facility and largest network.
