Three Ethiopian Coffee Brands launched on Tmall Global, an Alibaba group e-commerce retail site for Chinese consumers.

The success is the result of the partnership agreement entered between the government of Ethiopia and the Alibaba Group in late 2019 to promote trade and the electronic world trade platform initiative.

Tmall, the biggest B2C e-commerce platform in China, with over 500 million registered customers and over 50,000 merchants – an offshoot of another successful Alibaba e-commerce platform called Taobao.

The key difference between Tmall and Taobao is that while Tmall is a B2C platform, Taobao is C2C. Tmall was set up largely because consumers felt more comfortable buying goods from a company directly rather than from an individual.
