Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (31 May 2022)-The Addis Ababa City Administration Construction Permit and Control Authority has stated that the new regulation requiring all city buildings to be painted gray does not apply to historic structures.

Exemptions also apply to religious institutions that use their space exclusively for religious purposes and structures that meet international paint standards.

The authority also says that feasibility studies have been completed in four areas of the city and that the pilot phase will begin soon in Piassa, Arat Kilo, Legehar, and Mexico.
