Former President Donald Trump has launched a new social-media network called Truth Social, in an attempt to challenge the dominance of platforms such as Twitter Inc. and Facebook, after he was banned in 2021. TRUTH Social is a proposed social media platform by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG).The platform reportedly charges $4.99 per week.
Truth Social operates in a similar way to apps like Twitter, allowing users to post text comments, photos and videos to a feed, according to a video on the Trump Media & Technology Group’s website. Users can also comment on and like other users’ posts.
Donald Trump’s new social media venture, Truth Social, launched late on Sunday in Apple’s App Store, potentially marking the former president’s return to social media after he was banned from several platforms last year, says Reuters.
The app was available shortly before midnight ET and was the top free app available on the App Store early Monday and it hit No. 1 in the App Store’s top charts early Monday.
