The Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) has officially launched the trading of Coriander, Fenugreek, Black Pepper, Black Cumin and Guaya on the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange. According to the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX), increasing the number of commodities traded from 12 to 17. One quintal of black cumin is priced at 26,500 birr and one quintal of fenugreek is priced at 12,000 birr. It is estimated that more than 348,000 tons of spices are produced annually nationwide.

The annual export of spices is 15,000 tons, which is relatively small compared to the total annual production. According to ECX, more than 2.5 million quintals is produced annually.
