Gautam Adani, who runs one of India’s top conglomerates, is now believed to be worth approximately $137 billion, according to Bloomberg and its Billionaires Index.

Adani was already Asia’s richest man before prior to this announcement. He has now passed LVMH (LVMHF) chairman Bernard Arnault to become the third richest person in the world, according to CNN Business.

He is the first Asian to hold to have made it into the top three of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

A rise this week put him just behind Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon (AMZN), and Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla (TSLA), whose personal fortunes are estimated to be $251 billion and $153 billion, respectively.
