The Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), Ethiopia’s showpiece project, has successfully finished its preparations to begin test power production in the coming days, according to Capital Newspaper.
The dam’s pre-power generation capacity is projected to be 700 MW. It is said that the dam’s overall construction progress has now reached 82 percent, and it will initially meet 20 percent of the country’s demand.
