Addis Ababa (April 2022): Global Finance announced its 29th annual awards for the World’s Best Banks in March of this year, with a full report on the selections, said to appear in the May print and digital editions of the magazine. Awash’s selection, however, has been made known by the bank itself a month before this scheduled time following the Best Banks Awards 2022 press release on March 28.
Congratulatory news rejoicing Global Finance Magazine’s selection of Awash Bank as one of the world’s best banks was released on April 16, 2022, by Awash’s official channels. Not only was it one of the 36 banks in Africa chosen for this title, but it was also the only financial institution chosen from Ethiopia, making this accomplishment even more of a triumph.
Asset growth, profitability, geographic reach, strategic relationships, new business development, and product innovation were among the objective criteria said to be considered by Global Finance. Subjective criteria included the views of equity analysts, credit rating analysts, banking consultants, and other industry professionals. Using these principles, the regional winner from all of Africa was announced to be the Standard Bank of South Africa.
Awash and other winners will be recognized at an Awards Ceremony held on October 15, 2022, at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, during the IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings.
