Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (08 Jun 2022) – The Ministry of Culture and Sports, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, convened a press conference to discuss preparations for the East Africa Art and Culture Festival, which will begin on June 14, 2022, in Addis Ababa.

The Minister of Culture and Sports, Kejela Merdasa, announced that 13 nations, including Ethiopia, will participate in the festival, which he described as a forum for regional cooperation.

The event will feature a variety of artistic works, such as dancing and other cultural shows, representing several African countries, he said.

Dina Mufti, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on his part said the event provides an opportunity to strengthen ongoing efforts to achieve a unified Africa.

The festival will take place in Friendship Square in Addis Ababa’s capital for five days starting on June 14, 2022.
