The MasterCard Foundation has approved a grant of over 630 million USD for the second phase of its three-year program in Ethiopia, as announced by the Ministry of Labour and Skills (MoLS). The grant will be used to fund various projects aimed at creating job opportunities, providing access to financing, and instilling an entrepreneurial mindset in technical and vocational institutions.

The announcement comes after the MasterCard Foundation Governance Board evaluated programs in Ethiopia for four days. The Minister of MoLS, H.E Muferihat Kamil, expressed her appreciation for the foundation’s efforts and support in promoting education, financial services, and skills development in Ethiopia.

The MasterCard Foundation is committed to creating an inclusive and just world by promoting education, creating job opportunities for youth, and promoting financial inclusion.
