Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (17 Jun 2022)-The Ministry of Agriculture urged the community and breeders to bury any chickens that died or were found dead, to avoid using infected chickens for human consumption, and to cease moving chickens for a period as the disease is fatal.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, A task force has been set up to prevent the disease from spreading from several poultry centers in Addis Ababa and Bishoftu to other farms and other parts of the country.

Dr. Fikru Regassa, the State Minister of Agriculture, claimed that the disease’s preventative and control work so far is showing effective results and that all precautions should be followed.
