Lake Ayalew, the Minister of Revenue, said the government had acquired 27.13 billion birr in tax and non-tax revenues, achieving 99.67 percent of the revenue target of the month.

According to the statement, the amount increased by 29.11 percent, or more than 6.1 billion birr, as compared to the same month of the previous fiscal year.

Domestic tax income accounted for the majority of the total sum, totaling more than 14.1 billion birr. The remaining around 12.98 billion birr came from export taxes and customs duties.

In the first eight months of the current financial year, which began in July 2021, the government collected 221.4 billion birr in income. In the fiscal year 2021/22, the ministry of revenue intends to collect 360 billion dollars.
