The Ministry of Revenue, in collaboration with the Federal Police, has seized more than 200 cash registers, according to Sisay Geze, Director of Tax Fraud and Investigation at the Ministry. The investigation revealed that 40 unlicensed sales registers have been identified.

The registers were seized following a tip-off from the public, adding that they were stored in a building and found in an illegal place where there was no buying or selling. The statement said that the perpetrators of the alleged fraud were involved in the tax administration system for fraudulently issuing fake receipts.
