Chairman BOI stated, “Pakistan views Ethiopia to be one of the cornerstones of its engage Africa agenda.” According to a press release released by BOI here, a three-member delegation from Ethiopia, led by Ethiopian State Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador Redwan Hussien, met with Minister of State and Chairman BOI Muhammad Azfar Ahsan.
He emphasized that Ethiopia is one of the focal points of Pakistan’s Engage Africa effort, and that Ethiopia may come to rely on Pakistan as a reliable all-weather ally in the Global South. Both of these states have similar architecture and developmental experiences, making them ideal partners. Ethiopian State Minister for Foreign Affairs and Ambassador Redwan Hussien stated that Ethiopia is planning to open a permanent mission in Pakistan in the near future. Mr. Hussien graciously accepted the offer and stated that the summit will be attended by an Ethiopian investor group.
