Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (15 May 2022)-Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, and Pietro Salini, CEO of We Build, an Italian construction company in charge of the ongoing Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) construction project, received honorary doctorates at Addis Ababa University’s honorary degree commemoration ceremony, which was presided over by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, complimented both, calling it “a well-deserved honor for your significant achievements to the fields of economics and engineering,” and referring to them as “real sons of Africa.”
