Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed called to Ethiopians Diaspora to visit home for Christmas ‘Gena’ by initiating what is called “theGreatEthiopianHomeComing challenge” aimed at mobilizing about one million Ethiopian Diasporas to visit their country during the coming Ethiopian Christmas holiday.
The PM wrote on twitter (December 1) “As the Ethiopian Christmas Holiday is upon us, Ethiopians in the Diaspora take the challenge to come home for Christmas. 1 million Diaspora by 7 January 2022.”
It is also heard that Ethiopian Airlines is offering passengers a holidays discount for Christmas season travelers to Ethiopia.
It is estimated that over 3 million Ethiopians live outside of their country, particularly in North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
