PVH Corp., am American clothing brand, has announced the closure of its Ethiopian manufacturing site. The current political instability, according to PVH, is the reason for the facility’s closure.
The manufacturing plant, which was planned to support up to 60,000 workers (90% female), first opened its doors in 2018. Before the instability worsened, PVH was intending to transfer the facility to a partner in Ethiopia after selling its Heritage Brands portfolio. Next week, on November 25, the facility will be closed.
