Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (05 Jun 2022)-Lakeyah, a rising Quality Control singer, has inked a new deal with Motown Records and released a new song with Billboard Music Award nominee Latto. The song, titled “Mind Yo Business,” and accompanying music video, debuted on Friday (June 3) via her new label.
“Lakeyah is an outstanding talent who has been perfecting her skill under the guidance of QC,” The Ethiopian-American, Motown CEO and chairwoman, Ethiopia Habtemariam, said in a release. “Her transition from rap prowess to melodious singer is smooth, and we’re looking forward to all of her upcoming releases.” Lakeyah has been dedicated to her craft since she was 15 years old, and she is now poised for greatness.”
“I had the chance to cooperate with one of my favorite new-age rap girls!” Lakeyah stated in a statement about her new single and musical collaboration with writer Latto. The song and the video are both fantastic. ‘Mind Yo Business’ is one of my favorite songs, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
She also added about penning a deal with classic label Motown Records, “I’m super excited and blessed to also be in business with Motown Records. They’ve always been supportive of my music and now it’s just on another level!”
