Safaricom Ethiopia said, it has begun constructing a $100 million data center in Addis Ababa as part of the $300 million investment plan that took place within the first year of operation. The structure has been built in China and transported to Addis via Djibouti.

According to Pedro Rabacal, chief technology and information officer at Safaricom Ethiopia PLC, the business aims to build similar data centers in Adama and Dire Dawa as it expands operations.
