The Huawei Seeds for the Future program aims to develop skilled ICT talent and bridge communication between countries and cultures. By sharing ICT expertise and experiences in the global business environment, young people from more than 130 countries can learn about advanced technologies in the ICT industry.


The program was being implemented in Ethiopia since 2016. Every year, 10 students will take part in a two weeks training at the Huawei head office in China. Since 2020 the program went online due to Covid-19 Pandemic.


Seeds for the Future is one of thematic programs that Huawei is implementing in Ethiopia to cultivate talent ecosystem. This year Huawei has held a national level ICT Competition together with iceaddis, launched handshaking forum and built an ICT practice center in Addis Ababa University with 2 million dollars investment. Huawei also established 40 ICT academies with universities all over the country. Students and professionals can always access free learning courses through Huawei talent online platform.
