The Ethiopian Diaspora has legally transferred 3.3 billion USD in remittances over the last nine months, according to the Ethiopian news agency.
In terms of growing trade, tourism, and investment activities of the diaspora, diaspora members have invested with a registered capital of 97 billion birr.
In addition, the diaspora has purchased and donated a 122 million Birr bond for the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, as well as 109 million Birr to the Defense Force and 32 million Birr to charitable causes.
