The International Trade Centre (ITC) is a joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization for trade-related technical cooperation in developing countries. ITC’s mission is to foster inclusive and sustainable economic development and contribute to achieving the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development. ITC works towards creating ‘trade impact for good’.

The Sector and Enterprise Competitiveness (SEC) section in ITC provides products and services knowledge and advice for sustainable market driven solutions.

In sector development programmes ITC helps developing country stakeholders and poor communities turn opportunities in emerging markets into actual sustainable new business with higher incomes and increased employment along value chains.

In September 2021, The Government of the Netherlands and the International Trade Centre (ITC) signed a four-year partnership agreement aimed at enhancing the trade competitiveness in selected African countries, through the strengthening of digital and agribusiness services and especially the connection between the two. As part of this programme, in Ethiopia, ITC will implement the “NTF V Ethiopia: Building Alliances for Action in coffee from seed to cup” project, a value chain development project with the objective of improving the competitiveness of farmers and agribusiness MSMEs in the coffee sector with focus on digitalization.
