CBE becomes the biggest bank in east and central Africa, with a total asset of more than Birr 1 trillion. In the first quarter of the fiscal year, the bank has given out loans worth of Birr 36.8 billion for different investment projects and trade activities, and also collected back Birr 51.1 billion from loans. The bank made Birr 6.9 billion profit.
With more than 1,738 branches, the bank now has 32.7 million customers. CBE has opened 38 new branches in just the first quarter of the fiscal year. Further, 56.5% of the bank’s transaction is being done digitally.
