Yusuf Ademnur, the Secretary-General of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association (ECCSA), and Binam Misgina, the head of the ECCSA’s trade and investment department, are not returning to Ethiopia after the two officials resigned from their positions from the US.
The two officials came to the US with other teams to attend the Ethio-US Trade Fair, which took place in Washington, DC on November 5-6, 2021. The ECCSA board of directors decided to make a vacancy announcement to find replacements, with Wube Mengistu, Yusuf’s deputy, serving as acting secretary-general. Managers from almost 40 Ethiopian enterprises flew to the United States to attend the trade show, and according to The Reporter, several of these managers also have chosen to remain in the United States.
