Following recent social media statements about the date of service launch, Safaricom Ethiopia issued a position statement that disclosed it “would make a media release next week regarding its aspirations to provide a telecom service as well as the company’s ongoing operations.”

Safaricom said in a statement issued yesterday that it had noticed social media posts indicating that “Safaricom Ethiopia will commence service,” and that dates and other institutional information were also being disseminated.

Safaricom Ethiopia said it is planning to give the best customer service possible throughout Ethiopia during the current fiscal year. In order to achieve this, the corporation claims to be developing its network, hiring Ethiopian personnel to manage its human resources and conducting quality inspections.

Safaricom indicated that it will issue a statement to the media regarding the institution’s activities the following week and advised anyone awaiting the service’s launch to only acquire reliable information from the institution’s legitimate address.
